East Bay Landscape Renovation

East Bay Landscape Renovation

DSC02813

My clients wanted a complete renovation of their Danville, California home. Working with their interior designer, we complimented the interior design with a complimentary exterior landscape design.

This project was a personal best for all involved. The attention to detail, and custom features have been featured in Diablo magazine and I have had several opportunities to share the step-by-step processes taken for this project with my colleagues with the Association of Professional Landscape Designers.

The outdoor room features:

A large fireplace and hearth

Fully equipped outdoor kitchen

Seating walls

Flagstone patio

Custom chandelier

The larger landscape has been transformed with the following:DSC02820

Complimentary hardscapes

Updated, drought tolerant plantings

Custom lighting

Updated pool

We searched for an appropriate lighting fixture for the outdoor room/kitchen. We finally found it at a salvage yard in Santa Rosa! Rusted, and tossed aside – we saw the promise in it and had it cleaned up and it is just perfect.

DSC02811From the lighting fixture, to the detail in the stone work, lighting fixtures, and plant material we needed the perfect table top. We found this piece of stone in the Amador County foothills and had a rough edge put along the outside. We purchased the furnishings, bar stools and lounges and the outdoor room/kitchen was completed.

The pool was resurfaced, and new edging to go with the other project stonework was added. This was truly a “team project” with all sorts of professionals working together to achieve the clients goal. For my part, I am so happy to have had the opportunity to go outside of my “home base” and strike out in another Northern California community.

Photos below are various shots of the remaining landscape.
