Updated landscape design in Orangevale

Updated landscape design in Orangevale

This is one of my favorite projects … as well as the home of a wonderful family that I truly enjoyed working with.

Located in Orangevale, this older home is in the process of a complete transformation.

One of the areasĀ  you see in this photograph was taken from the gazebo, over looking a large, custom koi pond. Each of the stones used for the pond, streams, and large water feature were hand selected by our installing contractor, Jeff Woodward/Woodward Landscapes.

Jeff and I worked closely together to give our clients all that they had dreamed of. A brazilian teak deck, stamped concrete with an easy access ramp for a wheelchair, several intimate areas to sit and enjoy the water features are just a few of the unique, custom design features.

All plantings were selected for easy care, drought resistant, properties. Berms with boulders and plantings, decomposed granite pathways with flagstone, and special touches by the client (an artist herself!) created a setting to awaken to, come home to, and gather at.

Here are a few new photos. Late winter 2010.

We added another pathway with drought tolerant plantings.

We added unique raised beds for herbs, veggies, and perennials.

(Please note: this is a stock photo that we used to inspire our beds)

They look very much the same, and will continue to evolve in density and plantings ,

but I cannot take credit for the beautiful photo of these beds.)

This is an evolving garden and project … look for more updates by the end of summer!

(Jeff and I do many projects together. Jeff can be reach directly at jeff@woodwardscapes.com. Please tell him you were referred by me.)
